Shabbat Shalom!

I'm still a little fuzzy after a 19 hour flight with little sleep. I did manage tyo get in a good night's sleep after I returned from sharing a Shabbat evening meal with friends in Rehovot. The weather is fine--mid-80s with a slight breeze off of the Med. I'm off now to get in a bit of a workout and see if I can normalize a little more. Besides, Shabbat is still going, so most of the less expensive shops are closed (but not all the touristy spots along the coastline).

I've been rather reticent lately due to the studies for Holy Apostles and the Servant School (deacon formation). However, things are beginning to lighten up. Naturally, when non-work matters lighten, work matters... (uh... what's a parallel adjective for this?) get heavier. I fly yet again to Tel Aviv to do a little training and a little pilgrim activity. I will be landing toward the end of Shavuot, one of the three major religious holidays, which just happens to correspond with our Pentecost.

The Ironic Catholic has a rather interesting pictorial theology of sin up on her blog today. Having spent far too much time pulling weeds the last three weekends, I can relate.

I got my latest transcript today, and I can't say I'm surprised with my latest grade, I'm a bit irritated. I did well enough to continue, but not as well as I could have, which I knew minutes after leaving the parish hall. As I was driving away, I realized that I had misunderstood the point of one of the questions I had answered. In any case, I'm fairly sure that response hammered the grade for my final, and since that counts for half of the semester's grade... well, there you go.

And now, so have you.

If a subliminal Rickroll isn't good enough, maybe you'd rather see the real thing.

We had our last spring Theology on Tap tonight at the Stone House next to the Boise River, with a speaker (a social worker) on end-of-life issues. She was pretty humorous—obviously practiced on the topic. I would've liked a bit more discussion of the ethical implications, but I think her point had more to do with how individuals need to work with loved ones to determine how far extraordinary methods should be taken.

Final is done, and the other formation work is now underway. Still busy, but I may survive. Wasn't so sure last week when that bug was beginning to induce squealing.
