Tarazi and the Old Testament

I'm starting a scripture class this semester that focuses heavily on lectures and writings by Paul Nadim Tarazi, an Orthodox scripture scholar. He's clearly very knowledgeable about the cultural and linguistic contexts of the Old Testament books, but I have to say I'm not really sure what to make of his take on the Old Testament in terms of history. If any of you are familiar with Tarazi, I'd be interested in your impressions.

BTW, I'm trying to decide whether I should retire the blog. I just am not finding much to inspire me these days.

My vote is to keep the blog going; summer is often a down time, and it ws for me, even not having a job.

I've found that when my mind is stimulated, whether by work or school or both, I have more to say. When I am on vacation or unemployed, well....there's nothing there.

You weren't in my circumstances, clearly, but I suspect some of the same may be true for you in any case. As you study, you might need a space to "vent" stuff,to talk it out...and maybe then you will see that your blog is worthwhile.

A spell of non-posting is a form of vacation; and that is well. There is no "rush to post" and allow your soul the rest it may need, and vent it here as need arises!

God bless,
Mark

Sometimes it's good just to take a break, or you can turn your blog into a team blog if that works for you. I've enlisted the help of fellow writers, but I think it can be hard for other contributors to get the feel for a blog that's already so personalized by someone else's style.
