Shawn Tribe at the New Liturgical Movement has a post on how a so-called "peope's altar" can be prepared for use for the extraordinary form of the Mass (the Mass of Blessed John XXIII).
The argument about the insuitability of a "Vatican II space" for the classical use Mass has always struck me as either unimaginative or simply disingenuous. Cleary, the photos in Shawn's post underscore that point.

And suddenly, we're going to hear wailing and gnashing of teeth about how much it will cost to prepare the "worship space" -- and this in an age when we spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the most deliberately hideous cathedrals this side of Hell.
If it is costly to restore churches to make them appropriate for the Tridentine Mass, then perhaps we should offer it up as a penance for having desecrated them in the first place.
